Ash Fure: ANIMAL at ISSUE Project Room
September 3, 2025 at 8:00 PM
ISSUE PROJECT ROOM
22 Boerum Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11201
Ash Fure’s full-bodied sonic experiences and multisensory worlds, called “purely visceral” and “staggeringly original” by The New Yorker, mobilize the elemental force of sound, the social muscle of listening and our animal capacity to sense. Fure’s ANIMAL [for body and sound] will be performed live at ISSUE Project Room’s season opener on September 3, 2025.
ANIMAL works on the body like techno acupuncture: floods of sub-bass meet sprays of sonar clicks, washes of white noise coat the walls like weather, and Fure’s live performance whips it all around the space from a self-built rig that moves sound and light at once. Visceral, athletic and intrinsically live, ANIMAL is a feast for the senses that puts the sweat back into sound.
ANIMAL [for body and sound] has been featured at Long Play (New York), Big Ears (Knoxville), IRCAM (Paris), The Venice Biennale of Music (Venice), Unsound (Krakow), CTM (Berlin), Minu (Copenhagen), L.E.V. (Gijon, Spain) and will be featured at MUTEK Montreal on August 23, 2025.
