NYSCA/NYFA Artists with Disabilities Grant

The program will distribute $1,000 to New York State artists with a disability who reside outside of the five boroughs of NYC and have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis.
A.I.R. Fellowships Program

This program supports underrepresented and emerging women and non-binary artists in New York City. A.I.R. provides fellows with sponsored membership with A.I.R. Gallery for one year, professional development opportunities, a solo exhibition, an artist-mentor, and a stipend at the end of the program.
Black Mountain Institute Shearing Fellowship

This fellowship is for emerging and distinguished writers who have published at least one book with a trade or literary press. The fellowship includes a stipend of $20,000, free housing, a semester-long letter of appointment, and more.
Artadia Awards

The Artadia Awards provide contemporary visual artists living or working in Houston with financial support and exposure. Three artists will receive unrestricted funds of $10,000, and one artist will receive the Marciano Artadia Award of $25,000. Honorariums will also be provided to Finalists.

Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant

The National Sculpture Society is awarding this grant of $5,000 to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability and created a body of work inspired by nature.
Artist at Sea Residency
California or Oregon
Deadline: November 1, 2022
Sitka’s Artist at Sea Residency provides the opportunity for a visual artist, writer, or musician to spend 14 days on an oceanic research vessel gathering data on mesozooplankton food webs off the Oregon and California coasts. A $1,500 artist stipend and optional 2-week stay at Sitka’s main campus afterwards are included.
Southern Prize & State Fellowships

These opportunities are open to visual artists in the nine state region of the American South. The State Fellowship is a state-specific prize of $5,000 to each of the nine winners, who will then compete for one of the two Southern Prizes of $25,000 and $10,000. Both Southern Prize winners will also receive a two-week residency at the Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences in Georgia.
PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers
Deadline: November 1, 2022
This prize recognizes 12 emerging writers each year for their debut short story published in a literary magazine, journal, or cultural website. The winning writers each receive a $2,000 cash prize and will be published in Catapult’s annual anthology, Best Debut Short Stories: The PEN America Dau Prize. Stories must be submitted by editors of literary magazines, journals, or cultural websites.
California Documentary Project Grants

California Humanities’ grant program supports documentary film, audio, and digital media productions that explore California in all its complexity and tell stories from every corner of the state. Research and Development Grants up to $15,000 and Production Grants up to $50,000 are available. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations or municipal/public agencies. Individuals may apply through an eligible tax-exempt fiscal sponsor.
BigCi Environmental Awards
Blue Mountains, Australia

This opportunity is open to international and Australian artists from various fields – visual art, installation, multimedia, performance, literature, music, photography, film making, and curating. Two winners will each receive a four week residency in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Greater Blue Mountains and $4,000 prize money.
GALLIM Moving Artist Parent Residency

Lenore G. Tawney Fellowship

This fellowship, at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, is open to scholars, artists, curators, and writers with projects that study overlooked aspects of works and movements related to pioneering fiber artist Lenore G. Tawney. Selected artists receive a $30,000 stipend plus up to $10,000 to support travel, accommodation, research materials, and translation.

Bronx Council on the Arts Community Engagement Grants

The Bronx Council on the Arts is accepting applications for three grants: New Work supports individual Bronx-based artists through a commissioning grant of $2,500 for new work in a community setting; Arts Fund supports Bronx-based individual artists, artist collectives and 501(c)(3) arts organizations with an organizational budget below $100,000; and Community Arts supports local arts projects and activities that enable Bronx communities to engage with the performing, literary, media, and visual arts.
The Hopper Prize

Women’s Studio Workshop Residencies

Women’s Studio Workshop offers Studio, Legacy, Art-in-Education Artist’s Book, and Artist’s Book Residencies for women and trans, intersex, nonbinary and gender-fluid visual artists. Their studios are housed in an historic building, located in the foothills of the Hudson Valley’s Shawangunk Mountains.
Dresher Ensemble Artist Residency
San Francisco, California

This residency supports artists in Northern California who are in their early to mid-career stage with free studio space and up-to-date equipment to create new work in the time-based arts such as theater, performance, dance, movement, music, sound art, instrument invention, as well as collaborative and interdisciplinary work. Artists also receive a stipend of up to $1,500.
Baxter St Residency

Open to emerging New York-based artists, working in photography or lens-based art. Residents shall have free use of the facilities and equipment at Baxter St at CCNY, as well as a secondary photo lab. Juried by a committee of distinguished art professionals.
The Aftermath Project Grant

The Aftermath Project is offering a grant worth $25,000 open to working international photographers who are interested in creating work that helps illuminate the effects of war. Four finalists each year will also receive a $5,000 grant.
Salt Lake City Arts Council Project Support Grant

This grant provides $500 to $8,000 to individuals, groups, and nonprofit organizations to support arts projects and programs taking place in Salt Lake City.
Print Public Municipal Artist Residency
Berkeley, California

Print Public, Kala Art Institute’s public art residency, will select two Bay Area artists or artist teams to work as cultural strategists within the City of Berkeley’s Planning Department. Selected artists receive $9,000 (and an additional $1,000 for materials) and a 16-month residency at Kala.
Circ Artist Grant

The Circ Artist Grant provides unrestricted funding to artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art. Two artists per grant cycle are awarded $850 each to enhance and further their creative practice. Emerging, mid-career, and professional artists are eligible to apply in an international open call, several times throughout the year.
Bronx Dance Fund

This program, administered by The Bronx Council on the Arts, supports individual Bronx-based dancers, choreographers, and dance organizations with grants of up to $7,500.
Dexter Jones Award
Deadline: November 21, 2022
This award of $5,000 is given to one outstanding work sculpture in bas-relief with a figurative subject matter, or work that is inspired by nature. Applicants must have been born between 1983 and 2004.
Arte Laguna Prize

The Arte Laguna Prize offers artists the opportunity to exhibit in The Arsenale Nord in Venice, win a cash prize of up to €10,000, and be selected for residencies across Europe. It is open to artists working in painting, sculpture and installation, photography, video art and short films, performance, digital art, cartoon and graphics, environmental art and land art, urban and street art, art design.
Smack Mellon Studio Program Open Call

Black Women Photographers x Nikon Grant Fund

These grants are open to all Black women and Black non-binary photographers worldwide. Grants range from $10,000 in project support to $3,000 in business expenses.
Bernheim Artist in Residence

This grant program run by Mid Atlantic Arts supports in-person and virtual performances by American artists at international festivals and global presenting arts marketplaces. It provides grants of up to $18,000 toward eligible expenses.
Sandy Crimmins National Prize for Poetry

Puffin Foundation Annual Artist Grant

The Puffin Foundation provides grants to artists and art organizations who are often excluded from mainstream opportunities, and to emerging artists with work addressing environmental, social justice, civil rights, and other contemporary issues. They are accepting new proposals in the genres of theater, video/film, and climate/environmental art. Average grants are approximately $1,250; the maximum grant size is $2,500.
AnkhLave Garden Project Fellowship

This program selects five BIPOC NYC-based artists to create site-specific work in a public space and a traditional gallery, in partnership with the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The artists will receive an honorarium of $1,000 and will be reimbursed up to $1,000 in expenses. Awesome Foundation On the Water Grant
