KuroManga Magazine is an independent comic anthology that combines American hip-hop superhero characters with Japanese Manga-style anime environments. This project joins two culturally specific styles of graphic art and animation that have profoundly influenced one another for years. Each issue of KuroManga features scenarios that mimic those of traditional Manga anthologies. In “GunBoy,” a pack of ingenious children builds a robot to save their city from a gang war; in “One Man Army,” a hip-hop artist narrates a series of underground crime-fighting adventures.
Kito Jumanne-Marshall co-founded Griot Comics and is a marketing, PR and interactive communications specialist whose background includes twelve years experience marketing world-class brands in the automotive, dot com and consumer brands industries.
