Tulsa Artist Fellowship 2025-2027
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Application Period: January 18-February 28, 2024

Tulsa Artist Fellowship, a place-based, durational award focused on supporting visionary arts practitioners, is pleased to announce the upcoming opening of applications for the 2025-2027 Tulsa Artist Fellowship award term on Thursday, January 18, 2024, building on the success of its expanded award structure starting in its 2024-2026 inaugural term.

The Fellowship will open its doors for applications from artists and/or arts workers of any medium or discipline with a minimum of five years of arts field experience via tulsaartistfellowship.org. The ten selected awardees, to be announced later in 2024, will each receive a total stipend of $150,000 over three award years, along with a $12,000 yearly housing stipend, $1,200 yearly health stipend, $1,200 yearly studio assistant stipend, $1,500 relocation stipend, fully-subsidized studio spaces, and access to shared art-making facilities. The total support and resources provided to the cohort exceed $1.95 million.

For artists, writers, and researchers, this self-directed residency welcomes individuals and collaborative teams and is located in the historic village of Montegiovi, Italy in southern Tuscany. 


The Aperture Portfolio Prize
Deadline: January 5, 2024

This Prize aims to identify trends in contemporary photography and highlight artists whose work deserves greater recognition. The first prize winner will be published in Aperture magazine and will receive a $3,000 cash prize, a $1,000 gift card to shop for gear at mpb.com, and an exhibition organized by Aperture in New York City.


Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts Residency
Deadline: January 7, 2024

Saltonstall offers free residencies to artists and writers who are year-round residents of New York State and/or one of the Indian Nations located therein. Categories include Poetry, Fiction & Creative Nonfiction, Photography & Filmmaking, Painting, Sculpture, and Visual Arts.


Tusen Takk Foundation 2025 Visual Artist Residency
Deadline: January 7, 2024

Open to mid-career and established visual artists, apply for a  three- to eight-week solo residencies in 2025. Residents are provided with housing, 24/7 access to studio space, $625/week, and a vehicle for local transportation.


Leah Ryan Fund’s The Leah
Deadline: January 8, 2024

All emerging women, trans, and non-binary playwrights are eligible to apply to win a cash prize of $5,000, and a public reading and summer workshop as part of the Powerhouse Theater Program at Vassar College. The play must be written in English and be a completed full-length work for theater. They do not accept musicals.


The Good Hart Artist Residency
Deadline: January 8, 2024

This residency offers 10-21 day stays for visual artists, writers, and composers at any stage of their career. Each artist is housed in a private residence with a detached studio and provided with a $500.00 stipend, a kitchen stocked with basic foods, a few home-cooked meals from local hosts, and a quiet setting along the shores of Lake Michigan.


Anderson Center Residency Opportunities

Anderson Center Residency
This residency is for early career, mid-career, and established artists working across all disciplines and based anywhere in the world. Selected artists receive live/work space, fellowship and exchange within a 5-artist cohort, chef-prepared meals, and more. 

Deaf Artists Residency Program
The Deaf Artists Residency (DAR) is an opportunity for 5 Deaf artists to come together in an ASL-centric environment to create, communicate, and exchange ideas.

Early Career Artist Residency Program
The Early Career Artist Residency Program is an opportunity for early-career artists living within the state of Minnesota or one of the five boroughs of New York City in need of focused time and dedicated space.


Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency

This residency awards an international community of artists the gifts of time and space amidst the extraordinary natural beauty of Joshua Tree National Park. Seven week residencies include scholarship funds, living accommodations, and studio space designed to accommodate a broad range of artistic activity and open studio events.


Paper Chase Press Make-A-Mag Contest
Deadline: January 12, 2024

Make-a-Mag is a unique competition that will award one winner the chance to launch their magazine idea with the first print run provided free of charge. All that is needed to apply is an idea for a magazine, it does not need to be fully designed or conceptualized.


Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants
Deadline: January 12, 2024

This program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography. 


Folger Institute Artistic Research Fellowships
Deadline: January 15, 2024

Open to all artists whose work would benefit from significant primary research related to the histories, concepts, art, and objects of the early modern world (ca. 1400-1800) and its legacies, applicants may apply for one, two, or three months of research support, with a stipend of $4,000 per month.


The Saltonstall X Circus Culture Hupstate Residency
Deadline: January 15, 2024

This residency is designed to provide a generous and spacious environment for the development of the circus arts in NY State and/or Indian Nations based therein, and provides housing for 7 nights/8 days (Sunday April 7th- Sunday April 14th) with a private room, $100 travel stipend, access to up to 6 hours per day of shared circus studio time at Circus Culture, pantry staples, local vegetables for breakfast and lunch, and communal dinners provided by a private chef.


2025 Sculpture Space Artist Residency Program
Utica, New York
Deadline: January 15, 2024

This residency offers two-month for sculpture artists from February to November 2024, with access to a 5,500 sq. ft. shared studio with specialized equipment, along with six semi-private studios. The current stipend for this residency is $750, with the possibility of an increase depending on additional funding. Fee: $35.


StudioWorks Residency Program
Eastport, Maine
Deadline: January 15, 2024

This residency at the Tides Institute & Museum of Art (TIMA) is open to visual artists from the U.S. and abroad. U.S. Artists are eligible for a $2,000 stipend for a 4-week residency; $1,000 for a 2-week residency. Residencies include a financial stipend,  housing, access to museum and research collections, and can include access to printmaking/letterpress equipment. 


Virginia Center for the Creative Arts Mt. San Angelo Residencies
Deadline: January 15, 2024

VCCA’s residency at Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia provides time and space for national and international writers, visual artists, and composers of talent and promise to bring forth their finest works. Fee: $30.


NYSCA x Wave Farm Media Arts Assistance Fund for Artists
Deadline: January 15, 2024

New York State artists can apply for up to $7,500 to support the completion and/or public presentation of a new or recently completed media artwork. Grant awards assist artists in completing new work, reaching public audiences, and advance artistic exploration and public engagement in the media arts. Women, gender non-conforming people, and people of color are encouraged to apply.


Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation 2024 Individual Support Grants
Deadline: January 17, 2024

These grants are available to individual painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have worked in a mature phase of art for 20 years or more.


Forge Fellowship
Deadline: January 17, 2024

Open to artists, creators, makers, entrepreneurs, revolutionaries, and any idea-havers, Forge pairs bi-monthly touch points (consultations and skill-building opportunities) with access to daily support systems (a dedicated online hub and FORGE’s extensive suite of templates) to create a space for curiosity, commiseration, and celebration. You do not need a project to apply.


Helene Wurlitzer Foundation Artist Residency Program
Taos, New Mexico
Deadline: January 18, 2024

The HWF grants rent-free and utility-paid housing on the foundation campus, providing artists with their own fully furnished home (casita) and a peaceful setting in which to pursue creative endeavors. The HWF places no expectations or requirements on the artists in residence.


MFA Boston The Artist Project
Boston, Massachusetts
Deadline: January 19, 2024

Each year a new experienced artist with a passion for community arts plans and leads a project with children between the ages of six and twelve. The MFA provides the selected artist with a stipend of $25,000 and a budget of $5,000 for materials.


National Portrait Gallery Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition
Deadline: January 26, 2024

Select works will be featured in a major exhibition in 2025. The first prize winner will receive $25,000 and a commission to portray a remarkable living American for the museum’s collection. Fee: $50


Hayama Artist Residency
Hayama, Japan
Deadline: January 31, 2024

The residency offers a roundtrip flight to Japan, shared accommodations with one other artist-in-residence for 4 weeks, and a weekly allotment of $200 USD for meals and local transportation. Residency also includes an exhibition in Tokyo. Open to visual artists over 21 years old working in any medium. Fee: $95.


Recharge New Surrealist Prize
Deadline: January 31, 2024

The Recharge New Surrealist Prize is a $7,000 award for painters living in the United States and/or U.S. Territories who are working in the New Surrealist Style.


Just Tech Fellowship
Deadline: January 31, 2024

This fellowship supports and mobilizes diverse and cross-sector cohorts of practitioners to imagine and create more just, equitable, and representative technological futures. Fellows receive two-year awards of $100,000 annually, robust supplementary funding to subsidize additional expenses, and separate seed funding to collaborate with other Just Tech Fellows.


Furious Flower Poetry Prize
Deadline: January 31, 2024

Poets with no more than one published book are invited to submit up to three poems (no more than a total of 6 pages) for consideration. The winner and honorable mention receive $1,500 and $750 respectively and will be invited to read (virtually or in-person) as a part of the Furious Flower Reading Series. Fee: $15.


Fine Arts Work Center 2024-2025 Visual Arts Fellowship
Deadline: February 1, 2024

Ten annual fellowships will be awarded to visual artists for a seven-month residency that runs from October 1-April 30.  Fellows are provided with a private furnished apartment, a work studio, a $1,250 monthly stipend plus a $1,000 exit stipend to support relocation at the end of the Fellowship. Fee: $65.


John Michael Arts Center/Kohler Company Arts/Industry Residency
Deadline: February 1, 2024

The Arts/Industry Residency program brings artists to a factory production floor to explore new ideas, processes, and perspectives. Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.


Wave Farm Transmission Art Residencies
Hudson, New York
Deadline: February 1, 2024

This residency will emphasize “Live Performance for an Expanded Studio Audience.” During a 10-day residency at Wave Farm, artists will develop new transmission artworks informed by access to a research library, equipment, unique workspace resources, and on-site staff support. An artist fee of $1,000 will be provided to each resident artist.


MacDowell Fellowship
Deadline: February 10, 2024 (Application opens in January) 

MacDowell encourages applications from artists of all backgrounds and all countries in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theater, and visual arts. About 300 artists in seven disciplines are awarded Fellowships each year and the sole criterion for acceptance is artistic excellence.


Martin House Creative Residency Program
Buffalo, New York
Deadline: February 16, 2024

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House (Buffalo, New York) is searching for applications to its Creative Residency Program. The residency provides individuals from multiple disciplines a thought-provoking environment in which to produce new works of the imagination inspired by one of the great examples of 20th century architecture. Residents will receive a stipend of $5,000. Travel expenses of up to $1,000 will also be provided to residents who are from outside the Buffalo-Niagara region.


2026 McKinney International Art and Design Residency
Deadline: February 16, 2024

The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4–6-week McKinney International Art and Design Residency. An established artist or designer will be selected whose primary country of residence is outside the United States.


Anderson Ranch Artists-in-Residence Program
Deadline: February 18, 2024

This residency fosters creative, intellectual and professional growth for emerging and established visual artists. Residents have access to world-class facilities and studio time, free from everyday pressures. Residencies are offered in ceramics, new media, photography, furniture design, woodworking, painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. A select group of the 32 residencies are fully funded fellowships awarded by the jury panel.


Call for Scores for the New Jersey Symphony 2024 Edward T. Cone Composition Institute
Deadline: February 23, 2024

The Edward T. Cone Composition Institute is a multifaceted, tuition-free, week-long Institute designed to promote contemporary orchestral music by enhancing the careers of four emerging composers. Winning composers will have their music performed by the New Jersey Symphony and will participate in in-depth career development sessions with industry leaders. The Institute is open to university composition students as well as composers in the early stages of their professional careers.


The Sculpture Center 2025-26 Revealed Emerging Artist Solo Show Series
Cleveland, Ohio
Deadline: February 25, 2024

This open call awards 6 artists from the Ohio region (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, western Pennsylvania, western New York, or Ontario, Canada by birth, residency, or education, but need not be currently residing in the area) whose practice includes sculpture, installation, mixed and expanded media, relational aesthetics, and performance are eligible to apply. Artists must be in the first ten years of their career. This is funded exhibition includes an artist stipend in addition to gallery support.


NXTHVN Fellowship
Deadline: February 26, 2024

Each year NXTHVN welcomes up to seven artists and two curators to participate in its paid 10-month intensive Fellowship Program. Each Fellow will receive studio or office space, a stipend, and subsidized housing. Selected from an international pool of applicants, Fellows relocate to New Haven to participate in NXTHVN’s mentorship-driven curriculum which includes professional development sessions led by visiting artists, curators, scholars, and practitioners.
