True/ False Film Fest Artist Residency Program

True/False is seeking emerging and mid-career artists for original large-scale installations, projections, and performance works within the theme “The Human Paradox.” The five-week virtual residency will culminate in an in-person exhibition of work at the 2024 True/False Film Festival.


Eyebeam Fellowship Open Call
Deadline: October 1, 2023

This open call invites artists working within tech that focuses on decolonization, reframing history, language, care, the digital divide, and the future of tech to participate in a six-month program. Selected artists receive a $20,000 stipend.


Center for Book Arts 2024 Workspace Artists in Residence

Up to five New York-based emerging artists are awarded a year-long residency that includes a $1,500 cash stipend to explore the production and exhibition of artists’ books and related work in


Monument Lab Re:Generation Initiative

Poets & Writers Get the Word Out

Under the mentorship of an accomplished book publicist, authors under contract will develop and execute a strategic publicity plan to maximize the exposure of their first book, reach readers, and create a platform to propel their literary careers.


BigCi Environmental Awards 2023
Deadline: October 2, 2023

Two winners of this awards will receive a free four week residency and $4,000 in prize money. International and Australian artists from various fields – visual art, installation, multimedia, performance, literature, music, photography, film making, curating, are welcome to apply.


Bruce Museum Artist-in-Residency Program
Deadline: October 7, 2023

Open to artists of all backgrounds and disciplines, The Bruce Museum will host one Artist-in-Residence for nine months starting November 1, 2023. The Residency includes dedicated studio space, a stipend of $35,000 and reimbursement for art materials up to $8,000.


Brooklyn Arts Council Creative Equations Fund

This hyper-local fund awards $10,000 grants that support community-engaged artists, arts-organizations, cultural entrepreneurs, and researchers  who dedicate their creativity to solving social problems.


City of Milwaukee Vel R. Phillips Plaza Commission

Artists are invited to submit an RFQ with a $600,000 budget to transform a surface parking lot into an activated social space named after Vel R. Phillips, one of the country’s leading Black woman jurists, politicians and civil rights leaders.

Art Omi: ArchitectureArt Omi: Artists, and Art Omi: Writers invites residents to attend at no cost to themselves except travel. Catered meals and comfortable, beautiful lodgings are provided in a scenic location in Columbia County, New York.


Circ Artist Grant

For the Fall 2023 grant cycle, three artists will be awarded $1,000 each to enhance and further their creative practice. Emerging, mid-career, and professional artists are eligible to apply in an international open call, several times throughout the year.


Clark Art Institute Research and Academic Program Fellowships

Il Varco’s Nouvelle Bug International Workshop
Deadline: October 16, 2023

Nouvelle Bug is an international workshop for cinema shot inside video games and with A.I. This intensive week of webinars and live lessons will take place in Rome and accept 40 directors.


Next Jazz Legacy Open Call
Deadline: October 16, 2023

Next Jazz Legacy is a new national apprenticeship program for women and non-binary improvisers in jazz, with the intersection of gender and race as a guiding principle. Each selected awardee will receive: a $10,000 award, apprenticeship, creative and business mentorship sessions, four learning cohorts, and professional and promotional support.


Open Source Gallery: Exhibition Open Call
Deadline: October 20, 2023

Open Source Gallery is looking for artists from around the world with an emphasis on experimentation, sustainability, and social engagement to present exhibitions in 2025. Selected artists will receive artist fees based on the W.A.G.E. certification schedule, a production budget, and support in planning, production , and communications.


Prospect Art NEW WORK Open Call
Deadline: October 22, 2023

Los Angeles-based visual artists are invited to participate in the NEW WORK Focus on Los Angeles initiative. This grant supports innovative projects aligned with contemporary themes, providing $2,500 to seven selected projects. Three grants are earmarked for web-based, new media, sound, or time-based works, while the remaining four are allocated to visual arts projects in different mediums.


RAIR 2024 Artist Residency
Deadline: October 22, 2023

Situated inside a construction and demolition waste recycling company in northeast Philadelphia, RAIR offers artists studio space and access to more than 500 tons of materials per day. Fee: $25


Loewe Foundation Craft Prize
Deadline: October 25, 2023

The Loewe Foundation seeks to recognize uniquely talented artisans. The prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The shortlisted and winning works will be featured in an exhibition and accompanying catalogue in Paris in spring 2024.


Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Deadline: October 26, 2023 

This fellowship supports thirty New Americans— immigrants or the children of immigrants—with one to two years of graduate study funding in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the U.S. up to a total of $90,000.


Queens Museum Open Call: QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists
Deadline: October 29, 2023 

This fellowship will grant two visual artists $20,000 each, individual studio space, professional development consultations, and close mentorship from Museum staff members working toward the artists’ 2025 Queens Museum exhibition.


Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park May 2024 Artist in Residence Program

The National Parks Arts Foundation invites artists in all artistic media to join their residency programs at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, which offer a $4,000 stipend, housing, and artist events.


Wildacres Residency Program

The Wildacres residencies are open to artists in all disciplines and are offered at no cost to participants. Wildacres hosts approximately seventy artists each year for one-week residencies from April through October. Fee: $25

PEN America Literary Awards Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers

12 emerging writers will be recognized for their debut short story published in a literary magazine, journal, or cultural website. The winning writers each receive a $2,000 cash prize and will be published by Catapult in their annual anthology.


A.I.R. Fellowship Program

The A.I.R. Fellowship Program supports underrepresented and emerging women and non-binary artists in New York City. Each year, six artists are awarded a year-long fellowship to develop and exhibit a project at A.I.R. Gallery.


California Documentary Project Grants

The California Documentary Project (CDP) supports documentary film, audio, and digital media productions that explore California. Funding is available in three categories: Research and Development Grants up to $15,000, Production Grants up to $50,000, and DP NextGen Grants up to $15,000.


Smithsonian American Art Museum 2024–2025 Research Fellowships

These fellowships are residential and support full-time research in the Smithsonian collections.


Black Mountain Institute Shearing Fellowship

For emerging and distinguished writers who have published at least one book with a trade or literary press, this fellowship includes compensation of $40,000 and housing.


Velvetpark: LGBTQ+ Writers Residency 2024
Deadline: November 3, 2023

Velvetpark welcomes LGBTQ+ writers to develop and share their stories through their 4th Writer’s Residency. A 6 month live-work studio in Brooklyn, New York will be awarded to the resident.


Beam Center NYC Open Call

Beam Center seeks design proposals for ambitious public artworks. Projects will be realized by a community of more than 100 young people in a local NYC community. Selected project artists receive a $5,000 award and a $15,000 fabrication budget.


National Sculpture Society Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant
Deadline: November 6, 2023

This $5,000 prize is awarded annually to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability in their field and created a body of work inspired by nature which includes works of sculpture in the round and in bas-relief.


The David Prize

Deadline: November 13, 2023

A celebration of New Yorkers with ideas for extraordinary change, winners may come from fields as diverse as the arts and creative expression, workforce and economic development, civic engagement, environment and sustainability, immigrant rights, food and nutrition, etc., as long as their project helps New York City. Prize winners receive $200K distributed over a 2-year period.


Philadelphia Stories Poetry Contest

Philadelphia Stories’ National Prize for Poetry is an annual national poetry prize featuring a first place $1,000 cash award. Three runners up will each receive a $250 cash award. The winning and runner up poems are published in the Spring issue.


Nightboat Books Poetry Prize

Open to poets writing in English, the winning poet(s) receives a $1,000 advance, a standard royalty contract, and 25 free copies of the published book.


Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity Indigenous Haute Couture Digital Embellishments 2024

The four-week Indigenous Haute Couture Fashion Residency will offer eight Indigenous textile-based artists the opportunity to incorporate upcycled and/or digital embellishments into their work and to develop their designs and pattern development skills.


Women’s Studio Workshop Residencies

Women’s Studio Workshop offers Studio, Residency, Art-in-Education Artist’s Book, Artist’s Book, Artist’s Book for Indigenous Artists, and Research Publication Residencies for women and trans, intersex, nonbinary and gender-fluid visual artists. Their studios are located in the foothills of the Hudson Valley’s Shawangunk Mountains.


Bernheim Artist in Residence
Clermont, Kentucky

Up to four artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim on an annual basis, each with a stipend of $2,500. One residency is always dedicated to a regional artist currently living in Kentucky or in Clark and Floyd counties of Southern Indiana. One residency is dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and climate change.
