Artist Opportunities

Founded in 1945 in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Arrowmont is one of the country's most established craft schools, with intensive workshops, a year-round Artist-in-Residence program (one- and two-year residencies for five emerging artists), and the long-running Pentaculum gathering. The AIR program provides private studio, housing, monthly stipend, and access to faculty + visiting artist critique.

The Yéego Action Grant provides support for the growing landscape of Native artists and culture bearers who need financial assistance with a specific professional opportunity or towards a hardship that is hindering their creative practice. This program offers grants up to $2500.

The Creative Professionals Talent Recruitment Initiative is a new grant designed to attract, relocate, and support artists, musicians, performers, designers, artisans, filmmakers, culinary artists, arts administrators and other creative professionals to Appleton, Wisconsin. Relocating Creatives will receive a $10,000 grant for their creative practice, a $2,500 relocation stipend, relocation assistance and professional development opportunities.

Are you an experienced teaching artist looking to spend time immersed in the community and beauty of rural Wallowa County? Fishtrap Writers-in-Residence have the opportunity to get some creative work done and help inspire local writers of all ages through teaching in local schools, sharing a public reading, and offering your own Fishtrap writing workshop.

The Amerind Museum, Dragoon, AZ, seeks Artist in Residence applications from emerging Native American artists. The selected artists must be in residence at the Amerind Museum for 1month at a time to be determined between the selected artists and Amerind’s staff.

The Sandhill Crane Studio Artist-in-Residence Program offers artists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the landscapes protected by ACT. This residency is designed to foster a meaningful connection between art, conservation, and community, encouraging artists to draw inspiration from North Central Florida’s unique ecosystems.

Strategic Investment Grants (SIG) provide up to $1000 for expenses related to opportunities for professional development, market expansion, and art events. SIG enables artists and teachers to advance their professional careers and supports nonprofit organizations in the advancement of arts-related programs.

The Somerset County Arts Council annually awards grants to talented individual artists. The purpose of these grants is to honor, support, and strengthen individual artists living and working in the area. Artists may apply for up to $1,000.

Nebraska Arts Council funds art projects and programs of the highest artistic excellence that reflect creativity and innovation while providing opportunities for artists and arts organizations.

Artist Support Grants is a program funded by the N.C. Arts Council to provide the opportunity for regional consortia of local arts councils to award project grants to artists in their regions.

Lake Studios has provided creative residencies for movement, media, and interdisciplinary artists. Located just outside the city center, surrounded by forests, and a only short walk to a lake, these residencies offer local and international artists the possibility to develop their work in a peaceful setting while still having easy access to Berlin’s center and the richness of its art scene.

The mission of the Roman J. Witt Residency Program is to support an artist in the production of new work in association with the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design. The program awards one residency per academic year to a visiting artist/designer to create new work at the school while engaging the university community.

Our Fellowship Program supports a diverse range of cultural producers working in the vanguard of their creative fields. Fellowships are six weeks in length, occur year-round and provide fellows with housing, food, studio space, and $1,750 in financial support.

Artists in all media who are selected for the artist-in-residence program will have the opportunity to focus on their work while living in the K.A.F. headquarters, a stunning Florida beach bungalow. This includes at least 10 hours of consulting a week with Prof. Krevolin and allows the artist to develop their voices and new work in a safe, supportive space.

Rosemary's House offers signature residential workshop retreats, where each day unfolds with a group workshop dedicated to exploring the nuances of storytelling. Participants will benefit from personalized feedback, receiving insights from both the mentor-in-residence and their fellow writers. Rosemary’s house advocates for writers to select a cohort led by a mentor whose expertise aligns with their individual craft and professional aspirations.

The mission of The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) is to provide uninterrupted residency time for writers of all genres, including culinary, composers, and artists without discrimination. The WCDH will foster an environment that allows writers to work, interact with the wider community, stimulate new thinking, and energize creative expression.

Renaissance House provides a safe and inspirational environment for artists with special talents. A residency at Renaissance House consists of accommodations, meals, lectures and fellowship meetings for up to two weeks.

Rockvale Writers’ Colony exists to support, promote, and educate writers of all backgrounds who write in any genre. They provide a safe, comfortable, and inspiring environment where resident writers can work on a writing project. In addition, they host themed retreats in which writers can learn, explore, and join in community with others who share the love of writing. Entry Fee: $15

IDA Emergency Assistance protects freedom of expression by providing direct support to filmmakers whose work puts them in imminent and extreme physical danger. Eligible filmmakers may request a one-time emergency grant between $500 and $5,000 (USD). IDA will respond to all applications within 24 hours and handle them with strict confidentiality.

The Basel House of Film offers residencies for artists working in the field of film and television. Together with supporters and partners, the association was able to create a place of inspiration for filmmakers and an opportunity for the city of Basel to spread its rich offerings into the world, using the medium of film.

Event Horizon offers residencies of two weeks to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on five acres of olive groves in Crete, Greece. Residents are provided with lodging on site or in nearby affiliate housing, which includes a traditional Cretan house, a converted stone windmill, and two caravans, as well as workspace in modern studios built from converted shipping containers.

Prospect Street Writers House’s philosophy is embodied in poet Donald Hall’s maxim, “The friendship of writers is the history of literature.” Up the hill from the village of North Bennington, Prospect Street celebrates written language and fosters literary discourse. Residents will find themselves among peers in a distraction-free environment designed for comfort and productivity. Entry Fee: $30

To support performing arts events and public art installations in and around the Village of Brockport for the benefit of residents and visitors.

ISCP has two residency programs: the International Program for artists and curators, and the Ground Floor Program for New York based artists. All residents are offered an individual studio that is accessible twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. ISCP offers a direct application method for applicants who would like to secure sponsorship on their own.
