Purchase College Windgate Artist in Residence
Purchase, New York
Deadline: September 8, 2019
The School of Art and Design at Purchase College invites an artist who exhibits strong communication skills and proven dedication to working in an academic studio environment to its Windgate Artist Residency in applied design. Benefits include a $19,000 stipend, 24/7 studio access, on-campus housing, and exhibition at their gallery.
The Calgary Chinatown Artist Residency
Calgary, Canada
Deadline: September 9, 2019
Open to local, national, and international professional artists of all disciplines, the Calgary Chinatown Artist Residency will embed an artist in Calgary Chinatown, exploring its rich history and culture while engaging with the community. The program comes with a one-time CA$15,000 stipend, a CA$5,000 material budget, and a CA$2,000 travel budget.
Harvard University Radcliffe Fellowship
Cambridge, Massachusetts

This fellowship program is designed to support scholars, scientists, artists, and writers who wish to pursue work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts.
The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation Social Justice Grants
New York, New York

This grant is for non-profit arts and culture organizations that catalyze collective action, promote equality, contribute to advocacy and policy change, and develop capacity for greater civic engagement.
Independent Filmmaker Project Fiscal Sponsorship

IFP’s Fiscal Sponsorship program enables independent filmmakers the ability to access grant funding that may only be accessible to non-profit organizations or fiscally sponsored projects. It focuses exclusively on documentary films and other works of nonfiction, short films, and low-budget fiction or narrative features.
Hambidge Center Creative Residency
Rabun Gap, Georgia

Located in the north Georgia mountains, the Hambidge Center Creative Residency is open to all kinds of creative thinkers, offering each resident a private studio and living space, with communal meals provided four nights a week. Fellowships for first-time residents are available—they come with a $700 stipend and a free two week a residency.
Salisbury University Art Galleries Open Call
Salisbury, Maryland

SU Art Galleries is seeking proposals from artists for a site-specific installation at their newly-designated project space. Installation artists working in all mediums are invited to apply.
Borscht Film Festival Open Call

Borscht Festival in Miami is calling for completed works to be exhibited at their next film festival. Films of any length and format, as well as installations, experiences, and episodic content are welcomed.
Culture Push Fellowship for Utopian Practice
New York, New York

The fellowship is open to projects that take place within the five boroughs of New York City and aim to create positive social change through civic engagement and horizontal learning opportunities. Selected projects will receive an honorarium of $1,250, as well as fiscal sponsorship for additional grant-based fundraising and individual contributions.

The Toni Beauchamp Prize in Critical Art Writing

The Beauchamp Prize will consider submissions of work that has been written or published within the last year. There will be one first place prize of $3,000 dollars and two runners up awarded $1,000 each.
The Bronx Museum of the Arts AIM Fellowship

Emerging visual artists working in all media are encouraged to apply to this fellowship, a four-month course of professional development workshops, seminars, and community-building activities with leading experts and cultural producers.
Red Bull Arts Detroit Curatorial Fellowship
Detroit, Michigan

The program creates will help a curator realize an exhibition concept and bring it to the public in Detroit. Curators are provided a $5,000 stipend, and a $15,000 exhibition budget, both unrestricted, as well as budget for three-to-four public programs.
Pioneer Works Residency
Brooklyn, New York

Pioneer Works has residencies open to artists working in visual arts, music, technology and narrative arts disciplines. Residents will have access to the facility’s state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, a sound booth, a kiln, virtuality reality headsets, and more.
ICOSA Collective Open Space Group Exhibition
Austin, Texas

The ICOSA Collective presents a national call for entries for a juried group exhibition, open to all US residents working in any 2D/3D media and video.
Camargo Foundation Residency
Cassis, France

Artists working in all disciplines are welcome to apply to the Camargo Foundation’s Core Program residency, which comes with a $250 weekly stipend, work space, and living space, available for families or collaborations.
Squeaky Wheel Workspace Residency
Buffalo, New York

The Workspace Residency is a project-based residency for artists and researchers working in media arts. Residents will have tailored access to facilities, equipment, technical consultation, and a $950 in stipend and artist fees. Accommodations and $300 travel support will also be provided for non-local residents.
Center for Book Arts Residency
New York, New York

The Center for Book Arts awards four to five residencies to early career artists working within the five boroughs of New York with little or no background in book arts.
Keshet Makers Space Experience Residency
Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Keshet Makers Space Experience is a residency program in which choreographers and dancemakers have access to space to develop their craft and their products, at any stage. Artists can use the theater space in exchange for teaching a master class.
Common Field Open Call

The Common Field Convening brings together visual arts organizers for a four-day gathering to share resources, ideas, and methods for artist-centered spaces, projects, and practices. The gathering invites people to submit proposals for programming with a free and open call.
apexart Open Call
New York, New York
Deadline: October 31, 2019
Apexart’s open call will accept three proposals for exhibitions at their New York City art space as part of its 2020-21 season. Curators, artists, writers, and creative practitioners are welcome to apply will receive a budget of $10,000, plus support staff.
Locust Project Artist Exhibition Open Call
Miami, Florida
Deadline: October 31, 2019
Locust Projects, Miami’s longest-running alternative art space, has an open call to produce an exhibition. The selected proposal will receive $5,000-$10,000 project budget, a $1,000 artist fee, and travel support.
Wave Pool Residency
Cincinnati, Ohio
Deadline: November 2, 2019
Artists interested in engaging Cincinnati with their artistic practice are welcome to apply to this residency two to six week residency. The program provides artists with a live and work studio space, a month long exhibition in the gallery, and a $1500 stipend for the project.
Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

Do you have an unanticipated opportunity to present your work? Did you incur an unexpected expense that you didn’t budget for? The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers Emergency Grants between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists. They review applications once a month, so you can quickly take advantage of momentum or solve any budget errors.
Gottlieb Emergency Grant Program

This emergency grant provides financial assistance to painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.
Rhizome Microgrant Program
Deadline: rolling basis
The microgrant program awards $500–$1,500 to proposals with a compelling vision for net art, which considers political radicalization and the internet.
