It’s the early 90’s and before Bratz Dolls were all the rage and the American Girl dolls were still niche, there was NANA FROM GHANA – an inspiration to young Black girls all over the world. Nana gives light to the meaning of “Black Is Beautiful” as she embraces all aspects of the diaspora. She’s the doll of the future and proves that Black girls can be anything they want to be. She’s the hottest item on the market for years until, like any doll, she starts to fade from the spotlight and toy store shelves. Now, in present day, Nana from Ghana’s popularity has been long forgotten and she has been discontinued. Now Nana is on a quest to save herself from extinction and also prove her worth.
