M/F Future

Mallory Catlett

Artist Bio

M/F FUTURE is pair of works: Decoder 2017, a late night concert series, and Dead Time of Plenty, an afternoon encounter with a woman who might be a novel. Inspired by the prophetic imaginations of William Burroughs and Doris Lessing, each work is a experiment in time travel. Decoder 2017 is a cut-up of sound, word and image, an intergalactic battle waged by a DJ of analog tape machines. Dead Time of Plenty, is a sequence of dreams and durational actions performed by an old woman, a girl and a dog, set against the backdrop of a collapsing city. M/F FUTURE takes a tag-team approach to a burning question: what do you do when you can see it coming?
