Artist BioMatt Lynch
Artist BioClean Livin’ is a self-contained, autonomous living system that formally and conceptually engages notions of sustainable living, our industrial military legacy, and myths of the frontier. Clean Livin’, a functioning live/work facility, is used by artists and researchers participating in the Center for Land Use Interpretation’s residency program. Electricity is supplied to the site by a 2000-watt solar system. Water is imported from the Center’s facility two miles away via pedal power vehicle. The water is held in an elevated tank where it is pressurized by gravity and solar heated. Human and food waste are composted for future agricultural use as wastewater is collected and processed for re-use by a grey-water system.
Clean Livin’ became a permanent installation for the Center for Land Use Interpretation in Wendover, Utah in 2003.
