Jennie C. Jones’s (2008 Awardee) conceptual works use unusual materials and musical reductionism to highlight the idea of sound within the visual arts. Ensemble explores these sonic ideas through stringed instruments. Jones uses the line of the string present in the sculptures as a proxy for the continuum of art history.
