With the power of their social media and digital content, artists can start promoting their projects years before their opening, screening, or publication. In the final session of the three-part Artist Lab series, Content Strategy for Artists: Promoting Yourself and Your Work, Robin Cembalest, a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts and popular Creative Capital coach, offers a timeline for creating a promotional narrative that unfolds before, during and after your event. Robin will explore different ways to craft a storyline about your project, building buzz, interest, and audience. She’ll describe strategies for attracting visitors and the press, preparing for interviews, and for keeping momentum going after the curtain falls.

Live captioning (CART services), ASL, and Spanish interpretation will be provided. The session will also be recorded and made available in the Curriculum, along with the first two sessions in the series.

Creative Capital believes that artists need access to trusted educational content to grow their practice. The Creative Capital Curriculum provides cohesive, online, self-paced professional development courses, including how to craft artist statements, assemble grant proposals, plan social media, and more. The Curriculum courses and Artist Lab webinars are designed to be accessible in English and Spanish, with ASL interpretation, to foster greater equity in the arts. More than 15,000 artists in 106 countries use the Curriculum. The Creative Capital Curriculum is free for individual personal use. Institutions may license the Creative Capital Curriculum by becoming an Institutional Member. Institutional members include: RISD, UCLA, NYU Production Lab, Kresge Arts in Detroit, Texas A&M, and others.
