Men With Missing Parts

Tara Mateik

Artist Bio

Men With Missing Parts resurrects Dorothy as a Diana Ross impersonator in a mash-up of The Wizard of Oz and The Wiz. Diana Ross’s greatest hits, sung live, punctuate a queer narrative of the “friends of Dorothy.” Mateik performs the title roles, The Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion. As a send-up to the fantastical “realness” in Oz, characters lip-sync to audio from the 1939 film. The performance will tour, casting local Diana Ross impersonators and Wizards to play live guitar. Men With Missing Parts will also be produced as single channel musical videos.
