Jessica Sarah Rinland Argentine-British artist filmmaker, JESSICA SARAH RINLAND (b. 1987) is a recipient of numerous prizes including Special Mention at Locarno Film Festival, Best International Film at Cinéma du Réel, Best Film at DocumentaMadrid, Primer Premio à la BIM (Bienale de Imagen en Movimiento Buenos Aires), and MIT’s Schnitzer Prize for excellence in the arts. Her most recent film, COLLECTIVE MONOLOGUE premiered in Cineasti del Presente Competition at Locarno Film Festival 2024, winning awards including best International Film at Cinéma du Réel, Paris, and has North American cinema distribution with Grasshopper Film. Her most recent solo exhibition was at Tabakalera, San Sebastian, Spain, subsequently traveling to Rotterdam Film Festival. Previous exhibitions include University of Tennessee Downtown Gallery, Southwark Park Galleries, Taipei Biennial, Somerset House, New Contemporaries. She has had retrospectives of her films at Flaherty Film Seminar, Anthology Film Archives, Open City, Doc’s Kingdom, Curtocircuito, among others. She has participated in residencies including Camargo Fellowship, Film Studies Center at Harvard University, Somerset House Studios, MacDowell, and Ikusmira Berriak. Her films are held at the British Film Institute Archive. She holds a BA (Honors) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London and a MSc in Arts, Culture and Technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
