The Gurs Zyklus

Trimpin

Artist Bio

The Gurs Zyklus is an installation and performance inspired by the fate of Jews in the German town where Trimpin was born. Begun as a correspondence with victims’ families, the project is being developed through several residencies at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Europe. The final work will be presented in galleries and museums, with singers performing a song cycle set to choreography inside Trimpin’s sound sculptures. The Gurs Zyklus is planned for flexibility in staging at different sized venues and environments, both indoors and out.
