The past year brought a new cohort of awardees pushing boundaries with their practices, speaking truth to power, and wowing audiences with creative hacks at the forefront of technology. From Heather Dewey-Hagborg’s real-life love virus to Raja Feather Kelly’s black-queer fantasia, we remain excited, inspired, and pushed beyond our expectations by the artists we serve.

Over the past several months, over 100 cultural leaders from producers to curators to editors and beyond, reviewed more than 4,000 project submissions from every genre and every state to choose the 2020 Creative Capital Awards, which will be announced in January. We hosted a transformative Artist Retreat that connected awardees to life-changing opportunities. We took a huge leap in committing to support artists on an annual basis, when they need us the most.
