Infinite Ear is an exhibition that explores how artistic practices can contribute to new understandings of listening. As a project conceived in collaboration with Deaf and hard of hearing people, throughout the years Infinite Ear has gathered visual artists, sign language interpreters, musicians, dancers, architects, and writers.

The project is currently presented as an exhibition featuring three bodies of work: a series of instruments by Tarek Atoui, films and sculptures by Alison O’Daniel and a performative mediation of the exhibition by Valentina Desideri, Lendl Barcelos, Myriam Lefkowitz and Catalina Insignares; plus a programme of films. The pieces in the exhibition consider various degrees of deafness not as a diminution but as an expertise, a starting point from which to experiment with multiple modes of listening – tactile, visual and speculative, among others. The exhibition invites the viewer to think about notions of accessibility and linearity, offering infinite paths to sense and make sense of sound.
