Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park May 2024 Artist in Residence Program

The National Parks Arts Foundation invites artists in all artistic media to join their residency programs at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, which offer a $4,000 stipend, housing, and artist events.


Moab Arts Reuse Residency

With the mission to challenge the perception of waste culture by facilitating artists’ direct engagement with the waste stream, MARR encourages resident artists to consider their studio practice through the lens of sustainability.


apexart 2024–25 NYC Open Call

Creative people who have interesting exhibition ideas, trained and student curators, artists, writers, and creative individuals, regardless of experience level, background, or location can submit a 500-word proposal to present an original group exhibition at apexart’s NYC space.


Bronx Council on the Arts Community Engagement Grants

Three funds are available to Bronx-based artists and art organizations: New Work, Arts Fund, and Community Arts funds.


PEN America Literary Awards Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers
Deadline: November 1, 2023

12 emerging writers will be recognized for their debut short story published in a literary magazine, journal, or cultural website. The winning writers each receive a $2,000 cash prize and will be published by Catapult in their annual anthology.


A.I.R. Fellowship Program
New York City

The A.I.R. Fellowship Program supports underrepresented and emerging women and non-binary artists in New York City. Each year, six artists are awarded a year-long fellowship to develop and exhibit a project at A.I.R. Gallery.


California Documentary Project Grants
Deadline: November 1, 2023

The California Documentary Project (CDP) supports documentary film, audio, and digital media productions that explore California. Funding is available in three categories: Research and Development Grants up to $15,000, Production Grants up to $50,000, and DP NextGen Grants up to $15,000.


Smithsonian American Art Museum 2024–2025 Research Fellowships
Deadline: November 1, 2023

These fellowships are residential and support full-time research in the Smithsonian collections.


Black Mountain Institute Shearing Fellowship
Las Vegas, Nevada
Deadline: November 1, 2023

For emerging and distinguished writers who have published at least one book with a trade or literary press, this fellowship includes compensation of $40,000 and housing.


Squeaky Wheel Workspace Residency
Buffalo, New York

Deadline: November 3, 2023

This virtual and in-person residency supports filmmakers, writers, critics, curators, artists, and other practitioners working in media arts with $1,200 in artist fees and stipends, travel and accommodations, and an optional $900 financial assistance for disability or childcare. Residents have access to facilities, equipment, technical consultation, and will be invited to a variety of site visits and activities exploring Buffalo’s unique communities and histories.


Velvetpark: LGBTQ+ Writers Residency 2024

Velvetpark welcomes LGBTQ+ writers to develop and share their stories through their 4th Writer’s Residency. A 6 month live-work studio in Brooklyn, New York will be awarded to the resident.


Cafe Royal Cultural Foundation Exhibition/Project Grant

Café Royal will award an exhibition/project grant of up to $10,000 to NYC artists creating paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs.


Beam Center NYC Open Call 
New York City
Deadline: November 6, 2023

Beam Center seeks design proposals for ambitious public artworks. Projects will be realized by a community of more than 100 young people in a local NYC community. Selected project artists receive a $5,000 award and a $15,000 fabrication budget.


National Sculpture Society Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant
Deadline: November 6, 2023

This $5,000 prize is awarded annually to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability in their field and created a body of work inspired by nature which includes works of sculpture in the round and in bas-relief.

Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Archives Research Residency

Scholars, academics, artists, and non-traditional researchers who demonstrate a compelling need to use archival materials from Rauschenberg Foundation Archives in New York City are invited to apply for this program, which provides partial support for travel and lodging costs.


Artspace Pathways: A Native Space Initiative
Deadline: November 10, 2023

Designed to support Native American arts and cultural organizations in accessing and developing creative spaces in their communities, this 12-month, virtual cohort program utilizes Artspace’s decades of expertise as a creative real estate developer to assist Native organizations in exploring strategies that leverage existing assets or sustain a plan for a new space.


The David Prize
New York City

A celebration of New Yorkers with ideas for extraordinary change, winners may come from fields as diverse as the arts and creative expression, workforce and economic development, civic engagement, environment and sustainability, immigrant rights, food and nutrition, etc., as long as their project helps New York City. Prize winners receive $200K distributed over a 2-year period.


Philadelphia Stories Poetry Contest
Deadline: November 15, 2023

Philadelphia Stories’ National Prize for Poetry is an annual national poetry prize featuring a first place $1,000 cash award. Three runners up will each receive a $250 cash award. The winning and runner up poems are published in the Spring issue.


Nightboat Books Poetry Prize
Deadline: November 15, 2023

Open to poets writing in English, the winning poet(s) receives a $1,000 advance, a standard royalty contract, and 25 free copies of the published book.


Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity Indigenous Haute Couture Digital Embellishments 2024

The four-week Indigenous Haute Couture Fashion Residency will offer eight Indigenous textile-based artists the opportunity to incorporate upcycled and/or digital embellishments into their work and to develop their designs and pattern development skills.


Women’s Studio Workshop Residencies

Women’s Studio Workshop offers Studio, Residency, Art-in-Education Artist’s Book, Artist’s Book, Artist’s Book for Indigenous Artists, and Research Publication Residencies for women and trans, intersex, nonbinary and gender-fluid visual artists. Their studios are located in the foothills of the Hudson Valley’s Shawangunk Mountains.


Dresher Ensemble Artist Residency
Northern California

This residency supports Northern California artists actively exploring new aesthetic premises and pushing the boundaries of conventional forms. The program provides early to mid-career artists free studio space and up-to-date equipment to create new work in the time-based arts such as theater/performance, dance/movement, music/sound art/instrument invention, as well as collaborative and interdisciplinary work.


SFER IK Award
Tulum, Mexico

SFER IK Museion in Tulum, Mexico, invites artists from diverse disciplines to participate in an open call for the creation of art works using artificial intelligence to be placed in the Tulum Jungle. The winning artist will receive a $100,000 grant.


The Goethe-Institut Boston Studio 170 Residencies
Boston, Massachusetts

Open to New England artists, The Goethe-Institut Boston opens its flexible space in Back Bay to artists and creative minds as a “laboratory” for ideas. Studio 170 provides an open, lively place for inspiration, experimentation and open discourse.


SmackMellon 2024-25 Artist Studio Program

The program provides six NYC-based emerging or early career artists working in all visual arts media a free private studio space accessible 24/7 and a fellowship.


ACRE Summer Artist Residency Program
Southwest Wisconsin
Deadline: November 20, 2023

Open to emerging visual artists, sound artists, musicians, performers, writers, and curators, the program provides artists with the opportunity to expand their individual practices and take part in optional programming. Set on 1,000 acres of wetland, hills, and farmland, the residency facilities include workspaces, a screen-printing studio, wood shop, ceramics studio, fibers studio, art & tech facility, and a sound studio. Fee: $55.


Bernheim Artist in Residence
Clermont, Kentucky

Up to four artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim on an annual basis, each with a stipend of $2,500. One residency is always dedicated to a regional artist currently living in Kentucky or in Clark and Floyd counties of Southern Indiana. One residency is dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and climate change.


Locust Projects Project Room Open Call

National and international visual artists are invited to submit proposals for innovative installation-based artworks that have not been previously exhibited for exhibition at their new space in Miami, FL. They welcome artists of all backgrounds and experience levels and offer a maximum project budget of $5,000, an artist fee of $3,100, and provisions for travel and accommodations.

This residency supports writers, activists, and artists whose ideas are “on the edge,” taking on the pressing issues of our time. It offers writers a room in a home above a wetland in Point Reyes, California. Application fee: $50.


Arts Southeast On::View Artist Residency Program
Savannah, GA

Located in the heart of Savannah’s Starland District, this residency provides a free, high visibility studio space for an artist to complete a new project, to continue an in-progress endeavor, or to conduct research exploring conceptual, material, performative, and social practices.


Alchemy Art Center 2024 Artist Residency Program
San Juan Island
Deadline: December 1, 2023

Alchemy’s AIR program is a unique opportunity to live in an immersive arts community on San Juan Island, connect with the wider SJI community via teaching and outreach activities, and have focused time to create art in an environment that supports collaboration, cross-pollination, and innovation. Programs include a Teaching Artist Residency, Artists in Community Artist Residency, and a Special Projects Artist Residency.


The Puffin Foundation  2024 Annual Artist Grant Program

This grant supports projects in fine arts, photography, music, and environmental artistic activism that educates the public on topical issues. Average grants are approximately $1,250.


Atlantic Center for the Arts Residency #193
New Smyrna Beach, Florida

This three-week program brings together three Mentoring Artists from different disciplines to provide artists with meaningful interaction and discussions. Private accommodations are provided for each artist. To apply, click one of the three offered mentors’ names.


Foundation House Artist Residency Program
Greenwich, Connecticut
Deadline: December 3, 2023

Foundation House, located in back country Greenwich, CT, offers six residents a $500 stipend, private bedroom and bathroom, all meals plus full kitchen access, and access to studio space, a wide variety of common areas, and 75 acres of land to explore and enjoy.


NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowships
Deadline: December 13, 2023

An $8,000 unrestricted cash grant available to artists living in New York State and/or one of the Tribal Nations located therein, this fellowship is awarded in fifteen different disciplines over a three-year period (the five categories being fiction, folk/traditional art, interdisciplinary work, painting, and video/film), and is intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice at all levels of their artistic development.


Fine Arts Work Center Writing Fellowship
Provincetown, Massachusetts

Deadline: December 15, 2023

This fellowship offers 20 seven-month residencies to a juried group of emerging fiction writers and poets. Each Fellow receives an apartment and a monthly stipend of $1,250 plus an exit stipend of $1,000.


WNC Center for Craft Artist in Residence
Deadline: December 15, 2023

The WNC Center for Craft Artist Residency will provide two Western North Carolina (WNC) based artists with time, space, and resources to tend to their artistic practices. Each resident will receive a $10,000 honorarium, a $2,000 materials/professional development stipend, daily access to a 200 square foot studio space and shared studio resources, a Flex Desk Co-work pass in the Center for Craft’s National Hub, as well as monthly downtown parking or bus fare stipend.


Aviário Studio Artist Book Residency Open Call
Zêzere, Portugal

This residency aims to promote exploration and production in the Artist Book field. Artist books are consensually understood as an object that takes the shape or the dynamics of a book, and is made by an artist.


MAP Fund 2024 Grant Cycle
Deadline: December 19, 2023

In this grant cycle, MAP will distribute $2.8M to more than 90 new live performance projects. Each selected team will receive a $25,000 grant for the creation of a performance project, a $5,000 unrestricted general operating grant, and a $1,000 micro-grant to redistribute to an artist in their community.


Anna Rabinowitz Award for Poetry
Deadline: December 31, 2023

$1,000 is awarded to poets and their collaborators for venturesome, interdisciplinary work combining poetry and any other art or discipline. Application fee: $10.


Poetry Society of America Awards

The Poetry Society of America has a variety of awards, ranging from $250 to $2,500, for poetry and manuscripts.


Aviário Studio Multidisciplinary Residency

This residency aims to support artists to develop projects using a medium or a combination of technologies.
