Elevate Chicago Dance

Elevate Chicago Dance, a city-wide festival produced by Chicago Dancemakers Forum. Elevate invites dancemakers, dance crews, companies, collectives, or collaborations to submit proposals for public performances and other activities to present at a range of spaces as part of the festival. All participating artists will be paid an honorarium.
Artadia Award
San Francisco, California

Artadia Awards provide $10,000 unrestricted prizes to artists in cities that demonstrate a commitment to contemporary art. They are now accepting applications for the 2022 San Francisco Bay Area Awards from all visual artists who have lived and worked within the nine Bay Area counties for a minimum of two years.
Prisma Art Prize

Prisma Art Prize is an art contest born to promote emerging painters and visual artists. The open call provides the chance for artists to win the first prize in cash worth €500, interviews from partner magazines, an opportunity to be selected for the group exhibition in Rome, and more.
Queer Cat Productions Artist Offering
Deadline: June 5, 2022
Black queer and/or trans artists anywhere in the world can apply to be in residence as primary generative artist with Queer Cat Productions for one year. The resident will receive a total of $8,000 to create, develop, rehearse, and publicly share the new work.
Headlands Artist in Residence Program
Sausalito, California
Deadline: June 6, 2022
This program awards fully sponsored residencies of four to ten weeks to artists working in all media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, installation, fiction and nonfiction writing, poetry, dance, music, interdisciplinary, social practice, arts professions, and architecture. It includes studio space, chef-prepared meals, housing, travel and living expenses, and a stipend of up to $1,000 a month.
Chamberlain Award

Headland’s Chamberlain Award is a fully sponsored artist residency and $10,000 prize to support an artist working in the social practice discipline. This award supports artists employing non-traditional media to creatively engage with social concerns of the day.
Chiaro Award
Sausalito, California

The Chiaro Award is a fully sponsored artist residency and $15,000 prize for a mid-career painter residing in the United States. The Chiaro Award residency includes a private studio, and inclusion in a dynamic network of Headlands’ creative practitioners and thinkers.
Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants

This program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need who are practicing in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography.
Catalyst for Change Fellowship
Deadline: June 9, 2022
This 2-year fellowship supports US and Puerto Rico-based Latinx artists in the advancement of racial justice through community-centered, artistic solutions. Artists will receive up to $75,000 to develop an artistic project which creates the conditions required to disrupt systems of oppression.
Kala Art Institute 2022-2023 Media Award
Deadline: June 10, 2022
The Media Award supports artists in completing specific projects that will benefit from Kala’s equipment that facilitates work in installation, performance cinema, photography, traditional and digital print media, sound and video. Kala will award 4 artists a $3,000 stipend, unlimited access to Kala’s facilities for up to six months, one Kala class, and a culminating show in the Kala Gallery. Application fee: $20.
Firelight Media’s Documentary Lab

This 18-month fellowship supports emerging filmmakers of color in the US working on their first or second feature-length documentary film. The Documentary Lab provides filmmakers with a $25,000 grant, customized mentorship from prominent leaders in the documentary world, professional development workshops, and networking opportunities.
Letras Boricuas Fellowship
San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Letras Boricuas Fellowship is a new opportunity sponsored by The Mellon Foundation and The Flamboyan Foundation’s Arts Fund, which will provide individual writers $25,000 each. The hope is to help writers in Puerto Rico and across the diaspora pursue their writing, amplify their work to a broader audience, and create work that celebrates Puerto Rican life and cultures.
The Anonymous Was A Woman Environmental Art Grants

This program provides up to $20,000 for projects led by women-identifying artists in the United States and U.S. Territories with environmental art projects that inspire thought, action, and ethical engagement.
Stove Works Residency
Chattanooga, Tennessee

Stove Works’ Artist Residency invites eight artists to live/work for one to three months at a time. Facilities include a metal shop, wood shop, print shop, common shop space, and a library. Application fee of $10-30.
ACE Artist in Residence Program
Alta, Utah

This residency, open to visual artists artists nationwide, provides seven days to reflect, relax, and create in the inspiring mountains of Alta, Utah. Residents will receive a $1,000 stipend for supplies, food, travel. Application fee: $10
Residencias Rhizomaticas
Riverside, California

Rhizomatica is an in-person, experimental, nomadic, performance residency lab, led by Creative Capital Awardee Estrellx Supernova. The performance lab is open to BIQTPOC and allied creatives and centers the healing arts, choreographic excavation, and ritualistic cartographies. The early bird due date is June 3–10, 2022.
Innovate Grant

This unrestricted $550 grant is awarded to one visual artist and one photographer each quarter. Application fee: $25.
CPH:LAB Open Call
Copenhagen, Denmark

This multi-months incubator offers artists the opportunity to develop their project and explore the potential of digital interactive technologies and advance new visions of what a documentary can be in a digital age. The lab welcomes established as well as emerging filmmakers, storytellers, and creative technologists from Europe (with a limited number of seats for non-European artists).
National Public Housing Museum Artist as Instigator Residency
Chicago, Illinois

NPHM’s residency provides support for mid-career and established artists, activists, and cultural workers to incubate ideas and produce new work drawing attention to housing equity and related issues. The selected artist receives a $10,000 honorarium and a $10,000 budget for project expenses.
Craft Archive Fellowship
Deadline: June 27, 2022
This fellowship fosters archival research on underrepresented and non-dominant craft histories in the US. Scholars, including independent artists and emerging to established researchers, are eligible to apply. Fellows receive a $5,000 stipend to conduct research in an archive of their choosing.
Latino Public Broadcasting 2022 Funding Cycle

LBP is looking for Latinx filmmakers for three distinct funding initiatives — the Current Issues Fund (CIF), Public Media Content Fund (PMCF), and Digital Media Fund. They are accepting feature documentaries and digital shorts that celebrate and reflect the diverse Latino experience and bring new audiences to public media.
NYSCA/NYFA Artists with Disabilities Grant
New York

The program will distribute $1,000 to New York State artists with a disability who reside outside of the five boroughs of NYC and have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists

This $10,000 grant, awarded to draw attention to an existing body of work, sheds light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women visual artists and provides critical support to their continuing work.
Wave Farm Radio Art Fellowships

Radio researchers and artists living and working in the US are eligible to apply for a three-month fellowship with Wave Farm Radio. During the program, fellows will research and contribute to Wave Farm’s archives, design and lead a workshop, and create their own original radio artwork for broadcast.
Media Arts Assistance Fund
New York

This fund, for individual New York-based artists, provides support for the completion and/or public presentation of new works in all genres of sound and moving image art, including emergent technology. Artists will receive up to $7,500 to assist in completing new work, reaching public audiences, and advance artistic exploration and public engagement.
Sustainability Labs
Portland, Oregon

US creators, artists, directors, and producers looking to change their personal model of creative financial and business sustainability are invited to apply for this opportunity. Five fellows will work with mentors and a life coach on developing future goals for personal, professional, and financial growth based upon their creative aspirations. A $2,500 stipend will be provided, as well as travel and lodging in Portland. Application fee: $35
Passepartout Photo Prize

The Passepartout Photo Prize is a photographic contest that aims to support the development of talented photographers from all over the world by awarding €1,000 in monetary prizes, the opportunity to exhibit in Rome, and the possibility of publication in an annual catalog. Entry fee: €22
Residency for Experimental Arts Education

The Children’s Museum of the Arts (CMA) invites artists to apply for this opportunity to design and implement arts education programs. Residents will receive an annual salary of $50,000 plus benefits, and is expected to fulfill a 40-hour per week schedule, inclusive of independent studio time.
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan’s Artist Residency
Los Angeles, California

This residency is open to emerging and mid-career artists working in all disciplines across Greater Los Angeles. Artists will receive $5,000 a month over the course of four months, an allowance of up to $1,500 for purchase of art materials, and access to a studio space.
Loghaven Artist Residency
Knoxville, Tennessee

This residency, located on ninety acres of woodland, provides artists accommodations in historic log cabins that have been rehabilitated and modernized to create an ideal setting for reflection and work. All Loghaven Fellows are awarded stipends to support the creation of new work during the residency. Application fee: $20
Burlington Contemporary Art Writing Prize

This Prize is open to writers on contemporary art. The winner of the Prize receives £1,000, their review will be published on Burlington Contemporary, and they have the opportunity to publish a review of an art exhibition in The Burlington Magazine.
Project Row Houses Southern Survey Biennial

Project Row House is looking for recent works created by contemporary visual artists living and working in the southern region. Seven artists will be selected and one artist will receive a $25k prize.
Circ Artist Grants
Deadline: July 20, 2022
The Circ Artist Grant provides unrestricted funding to visual artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art. Two artists per grant cycle are awarded $550 each to enhance and further their creative practice. Application fee: $25
Prospect Art New Work Open Call
Deadline: July 20, 2022
This grant is open to visual artists that require financial assistance to create new conceptual-based work. The program provides a $1000 mini-grant twice a year to an individual artist or artists’ collective. Projects should be in its initial stages and can be completed within the next 6 months. Application fee: $10.
Southern Artists for Social Change

This National Performance Network program provides $25,000 project grants to artists and culture bearers of color living, working, and engaging in social change in urban, rural, and tribal communities of Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Residencias Rhizomaticas

Atelier Mondial Residency

Residency Unlimited is accepting applications for their six month residency. New York City based visual and performance artists are eligible to apply. This is an exchange program, hosted in partnership with Atelier Mondial, provides a roundtrip flight from New York to Basel, a live-in-studio, and an allowance of $1,200 per month.
Faena Prize for the Arts
Miami, Florida

Artists across genres, disciplines, and technologies are invited to imagine temporary and site-specific projects to be installed at the Faena Beach during Miami Art Week 2022. The winning proposal will receive a US $100,000 prize.
Anita Wetzel Residency Grant
Deadline: August 1, 2022
The Anita Wetzel Residency Grant is a new opportunity focused on mature artists (ages 45 and up) to create new work. The residency provides artists with 4–6 weeks to work in Women’s Studio Workshop’s intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screen printing, darkroom photography, or ceramics studios. Selected artists will also receive a stipend of $350/week, up to $500 for materials, and up to $250 toward travel.
Franconia Sculpture Park Residencies

Franconia provides a communal residency experience where up to 18 selected artists live on-site at their 4500 sq. ft. farmhouse. Applicants should express an interest in investigating and creating work exploring intersectional impacts between public art and public health.

This grant provides support of up to $2,500 to women and trans artists and cultural producers in greater Philadelphia to fund art for social change projects.
Fountainhead Residency Open Call

The month-long Fountainhead Residency is open to visual artists with demonstrated artistic excellence. Artists-in-residence receive roundtrip airfare, living and working accommodations and a stipend. The first 300 applications will be accepted July 5–August 5, 2022.
Stochastic Labs Summer Residency

The Stochastic Labs offers fully-sponsored residencies to engineers, artists, scientists, and entrepreneurs from around the world. Residencies include a private apartment at the mansion, co-working and/or dedicated work space, shop access, a $1,000 monthly stipend and a budget for materials.
NARS Studio Relief Program

NARS offers a program for artists who are in need of a temporary studio space and unable to afford it. The subsidized studio space is available for 3 months, and is a work-space only.
Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

Do you have an unanticipated opportunity to present your work? Did you incur an unexpected expense that you didn’t budget for? The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers Emergency Grants between $200 and $3,000 for visual and performing artists. They review applications once a month, so you can quickly take advantage of momentum or solve any budget errors.
Gottlieb Emergency Grant Program

This emergency grant provides financial assistance to painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.
Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism

The Eyebeam Center for the Future of Journalism (ECFJ) is a grant-making program that supports artists producing innovative and revelatory journalistic work for major media outlets. Grant support will range from $500 to $5,000.
Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund

The Adobe Creative Residency program supports creators of visual digital work, offering grants of $500–$5,000 for either a portfolio project or a paid Adobe project commission.
Awesome Foundation On the Water Grant

This grant awards $1,000 per month to a water-focused project that brings creativity, culture, and inclusion to the water or provides a new way of thinking about the water. Applicants can be based anywhere in the world.
