Residencies, Grants, and Opportunities with Deadlines in June and July

Örö Residency Programme offers artists and researchers a chance to work in the Finnish Archipelago National Park.

Kinosaki International Arts Center Residency
Kinosaki, Japan
Deadline: June 4, 2018
The Arts Center is situated in Kinosaki Onsen, a hot spring town known for its rich natural environment. The residency program is looking for performing artists to respond to themes of internationality, locality, and innovation. Artists will be supported through studio and accommodation space for up to three months.

McColl Center for Art + Innovation Artist-in-Residence
Charlotte, North Carolina
Deadline: June 6, 2018

Regional, national, and international artists are welcome to apply for McColl’s annual Innovation Artist Residency. The program comes with $6,000 living allowance, a $2,000 materials stipend, one bedroom, and much more!

Örö Residency Programme
Örö, Finland
Deadline: June 8, 2018
This residency for experimental fields of art, art-science collaborations ,and interdisciplinary projects is located in a former military fortress island in the Finnish Archipelago National Park. Accommodation is free, making this perfect for an artist who needs some solitary time to work.

Headlands Center for the Arts Residency
Marin Headlands, California
Deadline: June 8, 2018
Each year the Headlands Residency welcomes 45 local, national, or international artists working in all disciplines. The program comes with meals, housing, travel and living stipends, and much more.

Sirius Arts Centre Residency
Cork, Ireland
Deadline: June 15, 2018
This two- to four-week residency allows artists to stay in a beautiful bedroom apartment with a workspace on the waterfront of the centre of Cobh, twenty minutes away from Cork, Ireland. The residency is open to individuals and groups. Check out their separate program for musicians and composers.

Branscombe House Residency
Richmond, Canada
Deadline: June 15, 2018
This 11-month residency provides free living and work space in exchange for 22 hours of community engagement per month. The city of Richmond will also provide in-kind marketing support, performance space, and material reimbursement.

Gallery Affero Studio For Artists-Parents
Newark, New Jersey
Deadline: June 23, 2018
Gallery Affero is offering a free studio space with $1,000 stipend to artists who are parents. The call is open to US artists and collectives who are working in any media.

Chicken & Egg Pictures Accelerator Lab
Deadline: June 25, 2018
The Accelerator Lab is dedicated to supporting women directors working on their first or second feature-length documentary. The program comes with a $35,000 grant in funding for the production, monthly mentorship, retreats, industry meetings, and more.

Museum of the African Diaspora Emerging Artist Program
Bay Area, California
Deadline: July 1, 2018
This is the fourth annual open call to artists in the Bay Area to submit a proposal for a six-week exhibition at MoAD.  Four final artists and/or collectives will be chosen to participate in the exhibition. The opportunity comes with a $1,000 honorarium.

Mabou Mines Suite/Space
New York, New York
Deadline: July 2, 2018
New York City-based artists are invited to apply for Mabou Mines’ performance residency. The program provides artistic mentorship, rehearsal space, public performances in their new 99-seat theater, a $3,000 stipend, and more.

National Park Arts Foundation
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Deadline: July 11, 2018
This residency is newly renovated and is now open to families, couples, as well as individual artists and collectives. Artists will have access to the presentation space, studio, and accommodations, plus they will receive a $2,000 stipend.

AMP Accelerator Program
Tacoma, Washington
Deadline: July 20, 2018
Alma Mater Tacoma is looking to work with early and mid-stage artistic teams who are in the process of growing their own sustainable arts business. In addition to a $50,000 completion grant, artists will receive support through a 3-month accelerator lab with mentorship, seminars, travel and lodging assistance, community workspace, studio space, and much more.

Macktez Summer Stipend
Deadline: July 21, 2018
Apply to receive $1,000 for a creative project this summer from Macktez’s annual Summer Stipend grant. Applications are evaluated on three criteria: originality, relevance, and conviction.

360 Xochi Quetzal Fiber Residency
Lake Chapala, Mexico
Deadline: July 29, 2018
This residency takes place in the winter and comes with free accommodation, meals, and a range of work spaces for artists of all kinds of disciplines, including ceramic, painters, musicians, and writers.

Akumal International Artists Residency
Quintana Roo, Mexico
Deadline: August 1, 2018
Over the course of four weeks, artists will be immersed in a Caribbean environment with emphasis on a specific project or outcome. Artists of all disciplines are invited to apply to receive access to their living quarters, rooftop space, workspace and more!
