Town Hall on the State of Arts Funding with For Freedoms at MoMA PS1
In the wake of the “culture wars” of the mid-90s and the termination of the NEA’s grants for individual artists, Creative Capital was founded with a fierce commitment to freedom of expression and a mission to disrupt the traditional model of arts philanthropy. Today, as the NEA and NEH face threats of defunding once again, many are wondering what the future holds for artists in America. In collaboration with For Freedoms—the first artist-run super PAC co-founded by Creative Capital awardee, Eric Gottesman—Creative Capital will hold a Town Hall discussion on the state of arts funding. We invite artists, administrators, practitioners, the general public and representatives of both public and private arts funders to add their voices to the conversation by joining us on March 17th in For Freedoms’ artist residency space at MoMA PS1, Laboratory for Freedoms.
Come have your voice be heard!
