Josiah Meigs and Me: A Song Cycle for Puppets
Josiah Meigs and Me is a puppet theater/music work that is a collaboration between artist/director Janie Geiser and singer/song writer Vic Chesnutt. This work, “a grand little live-action silent movie,” is based on extensive research and take the form of a tightly constructed song-cycle for puppets—silent inanimate actors, who can defy gravity—performing before a live and visible orchestra.

Janie Geiser is a filmmaker and experimental puppet theater artist whose work has been performed and screened internationally in venues such as the International Festival of Puppet Theater, the Walker Art Center, the Phenomena Festival (Jerusalem), Dance Theater Workshop, The New York Film Festival, the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and on PBS.
