This traveling exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of Simone Leigh’s (2012 Awardee) profoundly moving works in ceramic, bronze, video, and installation. LACMA’s presentation features approximately 20 years of Leigh’s works exploring questions of Black femme subjectivity and knowledge production, as well as works from her 2022 La Biennale di Venezia presentation.
