Through her studio practice and fieldwork with communities impacted by large-scale extraction projects, Carolina Caycedo’s (2015 Awardee) film Land of Friends highlights the tensions and struggles between local fishing and farming communities and the multinational corp­orations converting the Yuma into hydroelectric power.
