Artist Finances: Building a Portfolio Career
“I just need more money” isn’t a business plan, even though it can seem like the simplest solution to financial woes. In this workshop, we’ll focus on the portfolio career framework—that is, earning income from a variety of activities—to match your own strengths with opportunities to monetize those strengths. And we will set you on a path to diversifying your income by:
- Identifying the components of a portfolio career
- Listing opportunities that fall within each role
- Learning to navigate challenges within each role
- Sharing examples of portfolio careers in action
This workshop is for artists of all disciplines who earn or aim to earn income from multiple income streams. It will be conducted via Zoom webinar and include opportunities for individual reflection and group sharing. All registrants will receive a recording of the workshop and workshop resources, including an income-planning worksheet.
