Wendy’s Subway Residency
Brooklyn, New York
Deadline: February 5, 2020
This residency supports artists working at the intersection of literature, the arts, and publishing. Residents receive a $600 stipend as well as an additional stipend of $1,000 for public programs, and further resources for a publication to be determined in relation to each resident’s project.
Strange Foundation Decelerator
West Shokan, New York
Deadline: February 6, 2020
The Decelerator program is a short-term residency and retreat in New York’s Catskill Mountains for individuals or collaborative groups of up to 3 people. It offers free lodging in fully-equipped spaces, access to abundant nature, and on-site one-on-one mentorship sessions. This season, the foundation seeks applicants championing and protecting Earth through their work.
Soros Equality Fellowship
Deadline: February 13, 2020
The Soros Equality Fellowship seeks to support emerging midcareer professionals who will become long-term innovative leaders impacting racial justice. The award provides individuals with $100,000 to support the production of an innovative racial justice project over the course of 18 months.
National Book Foundation Innovations in Reading Prize
Deadline: February 13, 2020
The National Book Foundation gives the Innovations in Reading Prize to an individual or organization that inspires readers and engages new audiences with literature. Prize-winners receive $10,000, and four projects will receive honorable mentions.
Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program
Brooklyn, New York
Deadline: February 15, 2020
This studio program is open to artists working in any discipline nationwide. Artists will receive access to waterfront studio and communal spaces.

Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Residency Program
Woodstock, New York

These monthly residencies in the Catskill Mountains are open to artists of all disciplines and offer studio space in two communal buildings and two private live/work buildings in close proximity.
Architectural League American Roundtable
Deadline: February 18, 2020
American Roundtable will commission up to ten editors to prepare reports on communities from across the United States, with an emphasis on small cities, towns, and rural areas. We are striving for both geographic diversity and diversity in terms of the types of communities represented. Commissioned teams will be awarded $10,000 to support their work.
Squeaky Wheel Workspace Residency
Buffalo, New York
Deadline: February 20, 2020
This is a project-based residency for artists and researchers working in media arts. Residents will have tailored access to facilities, equipment, technical consultation, a $1,250 stipend, accommodations and travel support, and more.
LACMA Art + Technology Lab
Deadline: February 25, 2020
This grant awards artists working in technology and science with up to $50,000, as well as in-kind support from the museum and private partners.
Sustainable Arts Foundation Awards

This award of $5,000 is open to visual artists and writers with children under the age of 18.

Art Farm Residencies

This residency program is for professionals, emerging or established, in all areas of the arts, humanities, and related fields. Accommodations and studio space is offered in exchange for a contribution of labor of 12 hours per week to help renovate and maintain Art Farm’s buildings and grounds as well as other projects, suited to skills and temperament.
PlySpace Residency
Muncie, Indiana

PlySpace is an artist-in-residence program that is dedicated to offering visual artists, writers, performers, designers, and other creative individuals time and space to investigate and pursue their own practices. All residencies include living space, studio space, a $500 travel stipend and a $500 living stipend.
Keyholder Residency
New York, New York

This residency offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Artists receive free access to studio space, workshops, basic supplies, a $1,000 stipend, and more.
Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts
Nebraska City, Nebraska

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts offers residencies to international and national visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists. Residents receive a $100 stipend per week, free housing, and a private studio.
Chautauqua School of Art Residency Program

The Chautauqua School of Art residency program welcomes artists working in all disciplines who have yet to receive wide recognition of their work to apply for this residency. Curriculum is designed to break typically siloed disciplines from each other, embracing a full range of studio and pragmatic studies including professional development for artists, the art of pedagogy, archiving, and more.

This residency seeks proposals to create a space/installation for live and interactive performance pieces — centered around the intersections of technology, resistance, and the queer/trans experience. The program supports artists with a $200 stipend, living and work space.
Artists’ Cooperative Residency & Exhibitions
Southwest Wisconsin

ACRE’s residency takes place every summer in rural Southwest Wisconsin. The residency facilities include numerous buildings which provide for expansive communal work spaces, a screen-printing studio, an outdoor wood shop, an art and tech facility, a sound studio, a fibers studio and a ceramics studio.
Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Residency
Columbus, Ohio

This 90-day residency in the home of the late Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson is open to U.S. based African American visual artists. In addition to a studio space, recipient will receive a $2,500 unrestricted cash award and a stipend up to $5,500 for travel/living expenses. Community outreach activities are required and artists will have the opportunity for a public presentation and/or exhibition.

Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

Do you have an unanticipated opportunity to present your work? Did you incur an unexpected expense that you didn’t budget for? The Foundation for Contemporary Arts offers Emergency Grants between $200 and $2,500 for visual and performing artists. They review applications once a month, so you can quickly take advantage of momentum or solve any budget errors.
Gottlieb Emergency Grant Program

This emergency grant provides financial assistance to painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation.
Rhizome Microgrant Program

The microgrant program awards $500–$1,500 to proposals with a compelling vision for net art, which considers political radicalization and the internet.
