Contemporary chamber music and live electronica come together in an evening combining the music of Mason Bates and the visual designs of Anne Patterson. The audience enters a space of surreal visual effects and ambient electronica (performed on a laptop, turntables and double bass). The acoustic element of the evening features five of Bates’ chamber works, seamlessly presented with electronica interludes in between, while Patterson’s projections and lighting provide a creative visual complement.
