We have worked with past partners to create custom workshop experiences in the following ways:
COMBINING ANY TWO ONE-DAY WORKSHOPS TO CREATE A WEEKEND INTENSIVE
We can bundle two one-day workshops to create an intensive weekend experience based specifically on the content that is most relevant to your group. This can include the option to begin with participant presentations the evening before. Popular combinations have been Strategic Planning with Verbal Communications, and Funding Your Work with Real Community Engagement.
Partners: Artis, Arts & Science Council of Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Flight School Pittsburgh
INCORPORATING PDP SESSIONS INTO YOUR ARTISTS’ CONVENING
Any of our workshops can be presented in one-day or half-day sessions as part of a conference or convening of artists. The PDP workshop can stand alone, or it can be an elective option for attendees.
Partners: Delaware Division of the Arts, Montana Arts Council, National Performance Network
HOSTING FACULTY WORKSHOPS
PDP can condense our weekend workshop into two days or offer any combination of one-day workshops specifically for faculty members who are also working artists.
Partner: California College of the Arts, California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Otis College of Art and Design
PROVIDING WEBINARS FOR COLLEGE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS
Art Departments or individual faculty members can arrange for students to participate in our regularly offered webinars, or purchase a private webinar for their group or class.
Partner: Grossmont College
INTEGRATING WORKSHOPS INTO FELLOWSHIP OR GRANTEE PROGRAMS
PDP works with foundations and funders of artist fellowship programs to provide workshops designed for the professional development needs of their grantees.
Partners: ArtServe Michigan Kresge Fellows, MAPFund, North Carolina Arts Council, Pennsylvania Performing Artists on Tour, Pew Center for Arts & Heritage
DESIGNING A WORKSHOP SERIES
PDP can design a series of evening workshops taking place on a monthly, weekly or other regular basis, as best meets your needs.
Partners: Aljira A Contemporary Arts Center, Museum of Art & Design
CONVENING A FIVE-DAY INTENSIVE
For the past five years, PDP has worked in partnership with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) to create and deliver the Artists Summer Institute (ASI), a five-day professional development intensive for 55 New York City artists. Designed to help artists build a path to greater sustainability and self-sufficiency, ASI combines elements of our curriculum with LMCC’s Basic Finance for Artists program to provide a comprehensive range of training, tools and resources for working artists. The Institute takes an integrated approach to education that addresses different learning styles, matches practical information with long-term goal setting, and encourages a peer-learning environment.
