Creative Capital

“…these workshops have changed the artists who participated… they have commented that this experience, and the tools that they gained, has been much more valuable than any grant or financial assistance they had previously been awarded. ”
– Florida State Division of Cultural Affairs Staff

How to Work with PDP

Creative Capital partners with organizations across the country to present Professional Development Program workshops that meet the needs of the artists in their communities. Presenting partners can be state or local arts councils, arts organizations, funding bodies, community organizations, or universities. Fees range from $3,000-$27,000, depending on the workshop location, length, topic, and number of participants. In addition to the workshop fee, partners are responsible for promotion, participant selection, providing the venue, catering, on-site resources and technical assistance.

New! Workshop Subsidy Grant

Thanks to the Kresge Foundation, eligible organizations can now apply for a $3,000 to $10,000 Workshop Subsidy Grant to offer workshops to diverse participants for a significantly reduced fee. Learn more about the Workshop Subsidy Grant Program.

Organizations are welcome to continue hosting workshops at the regular rates independent of the Subsidy Grant. To present an unsubsidized workshop in your community contact Krista Fabian DeCastro, Workshop Manager, at krista[at]creative-capital[dot]org.

Observer Travel Subsidy

PDP has a small amount of funding to help subsidize the travel of a limited number of potential partner organizations to observe one of our workshops. Seeing a workshop can give first hand experience of what we offer and how it can impact your community of artists. Learn more about the Observer Travel Subsidy

Why Partnership?

Partner organizations share with PDP a commitment to the nurturing and support of individual artists and understand the need for career development tools and training. Partners are aware that the training and professional development needs of their local artists are often not adequately met and so have stepped in to fill that void.

By offering PDP workshops in their communities, partner organizations contribute to the long-term sustainability of individual artists' careers. Past partners have reported that PDP workshops often lead to the artist alumni becoming more engaged with the partner organization and its programming, as well as the participants pursuing a deeper engagement with each other and the broader community of artists. Past partners have also pointed out that PDP has helped them better understand and be responsive to the career needs of artists in their communities.
