“…these workshops have changed the artists who participated… they have commented that this experience, and the tools that they gained, has been much more valuable than any grant or financial assistance they had previously been awarded. ”
– Florida State Division of Cultural Affairs Staff

Partner organizations share with PDP a commitment to the nurturing and support of individual artists and understand the need for career development tools and training. Partners are aware that the training and professional development needs of their local artists are often not adequately met and so have stepped in to fill that void.

By offering PDP workshops in their communities, partner organizations contribute to the long-term sustainability of individual artists' careers. Past partners have reported that PDP workshops often lead to the artist alumni becoming more engaged with the partner organization and its programming, as well as the participants pursuing a deeper engagement with each other and the broader community of artists. Past partners have also pointed out that PDP has helped them better understand and be responsive to the career needs of artists in their communities.

Through a presenting partnership, Creative Capital delivers high-quality training to artists in the partner's locale and often works with the partner in building local community resources and capacity for this crucial work.

How to work with PDP

Creative Capital is interested in partnering with organizations across the country to present a Professional Development Program workshop that will meet the needs of the artists in their communities. Presenting partners can be state or local arts councils, arts organizations, funding bodies, community organizations, or universities.

Workshop fees range from $2,000-$27,000, depending on the location, length of workshop, topic, and number of participants. In addition to the workshop fee, presenting partners are responsible for promoting the workshop and selecting participants, providing the workshop venue and catering, and on-site resources and technical assistance.

If you are interested in presenting a workshop in your community, please contact Krista Fabian DeCastro, Workshop Manager, at krista[at]creative-capital[dot]org.
