Taylor Mac premieres Creative Capital project "The Lily's Revenge"

2009 Performing Arts grantee Taylor Mac presents the premiere of his five-part theatrical extravaganza The Lily’s Revenge at HERE Arts Center in NYC on Thursday, October 29. Written and conceived by Mac, the multidisciplinary performance features live music, wild costumes, vaudevillian theatrics, macabre entr’actes and a company of 40 in the story of an uprooted lily that goes on a quest to wed a human bride and destroy The God of Nostalgia. Bringing together elements of a puppet-theater play, a play in the round, a video/live performance work, and a circus act, Mac presents a work about alternative communities and the homogeneity of culture. The Lily’s Revenge will run through November 22.
