Creative Capital receives Rockefeller Foundation’s 2009 Cultural Innovation Fund Award

The Rockefeller Foundation announced today that Creative Capital is among the 18 winners of the Foundation’s 2009 Cultural Innovation Fund competition. Selected from a pool of more than 500 applicants, Creative Capital will receive grant monies for research and evaluation of new programs and initiatives to support individual artists beyond grantmaking. A founding donor, the Rockefeller Foundation continues its commitment to Creative Capital and its pioneering work to support the country’s most innovative artists.
Creative Capital launched in 1999 and reinvented arts philanthropy, integrating grants and career development services to support adventurous projects through long-term partnerships with artists. In its first decade, Creative Capital has committed more than $14 million in financial and advisory support to 325 projects representing 406 grantees and has reached an additional 2,300 artists through its Professional Development Program.
