Cory Arcangel is a digital media artist known for his Internet and videogame hacks, digital art and videos. Often these works are pranks that lampoon contemporary media culture. His solo exhibitions have been presented at Deitch Projects and the Team Gallery in New York; ArtBasel in Switzerland, as part of the Young Art Fair; and FACT in Liverpool, UK. He has been part of group shows at the Guggenheim, MoMA, and Whitney Museums, the Liverpool Biennial, and American Museum of the Moving Image, among other venues. He is the recipient of a New Media Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts and commissions from the Whitney Museum and New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. In 2005, he was named “Best Emerging Artist” by New York Magazine.
