Taylor Mac creates solo works and large-scale ensemble performances, including The Young Ladies Of, Peace, Red Tide Blooming, The Be(a)st of Taylor Mac and Cardiac Arrest, or Venus on a Half-Clam. These performances have been presented at such venues as London’s Soho Theater, Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Under the Radar festival at The Public Theater in New York, Dublin’s Project Arts Center, PICA’s Time-Based Art Festival in Portland, OR, San Francisco MOMA, and the Spoleto Festival in South Carolina. His awards include the James Hammerstein Award in playwriting, the Edinburgh Festival’s Herald Angel Award, P.S. 122’s first ever Ethyl Eichelberger Award and the McKnight National Residency and Commission from the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis, MN. Mac won a 2010 Obie Award for his Creative Capital project, The Lily’s Revenge. Mac is a member of New Dramatists.
