Cat Mazza’s work combines craft with digital media to explore the overlaps between textiles, technology and labor. Mazza has exhibited at the Triennale di Milano in Italy, the Textile Museum in Canada, Garanti Gallery in Istanbul and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City. She has received support from the Rockefeller Media Arts grant (New Media fellow 2007); MacDowell Colony (2009); the Craft Research Fund (2009); and has been awarded an alumni award at Carnegie Mellon University (2008) and a honorary mention at Ars Electronica (2005) in Digital Communities. Mazza has been a visiting speaker at Harvard University, the New Museum, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona and the Dundee Contemporary Art Centre in Scotland. She is Assistant Professor of Art at UMass Boston.
