Kenseth Armstead’s installation and media works have been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Berlin VideoFest and MIT. His videos and sculptures are included in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, the African American Museum in Dallas and numerous private collections. Armstead’s awards include the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, a NYFA Video Fellowship, the Camille Hanks-Cosby Fellowship and the NYSCA Individual Artist Grant in Film & Media. He has been an Artist in Residence at Harvestworks in New York and at the Castle Trebesice in Prague. Armstead has co-authored multimedia installations collaboratively with the art band X-PRZ, which he cofounded in 1991. He was also Managing Editor of Rhizome.org, which he helped launch in 1996.
Awards and Accomplishments
Armstead receives a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) Swing Space residency on Governor's Island. Kenseth will be in residence from March to July of 2012.
