Request for Follow-up Support

Follow-up Project Support I, II, & III

Once you can demonstrate you have made significant progress on your project and you have received your Strategic Financial Support, you have the opportunity to ask us for additional support for the production and presentation of your project. Follow-up Project Support awards are up to $20,000. Due to limited funds we may not be able to award the full amount requested or award this grant to all projects.

In order to be maximally flexible we have three application categories. Please review them carefully and make sure you are applying in the one that is best suited to your needs. Please note that if we get a large number of proposals during a particular month, yours might be moved to the following month for consideration.

Eligibility (for all three categories):

You have had your initial project meeting with Creative Capital staff.
You have applied for and received Strategic Financial Support.
You can demonstrate that your project has progressed significantly since it was originally funded.

When to Apply:

There is no application deadline.
You may apply for and receive this support more than once, with a maximum total award of $20,000 in a year.

Follow-up Project Support I: requests of $5,000 and under

Submit the short application form (no work sample required).
Priority will be given to projects that may have substantial artistic or cultural impact.
You must demonstrate in your application that you have made significant progress on your project. Work samples are not required.
You will receive notification in approx. 2-3 weeks.

Follow-up Project Support II: requests between $5,001 - $10,000

Submit a detailed application and a new work sample to be evaluated and scored.
Priority will be given to projects that may have substantial artistic or cultural impact.
You must demonstrate (via your work sample and application) that you have made significant progress on your project.
You will receive notification in approx. 3-4 weeks

Follow-up Project Support III: request between $10,001 - $20,000

Submit a detailed application and two copies of a new work sample to be evaluated and scored by two outside evaluators in your field.
Priority will be given to projects that may have substantial artistic or cultural impact.
You must demonstrate (via your work sample and application) that you have made significant progress on your project.
You will receive notification in approx. 2 months.

Creative Capital Follow-up Project Support I

Application Guidelines for requests of $5,000 and below

Applying for Follow-up Project Support allows you the opportunity to ask us for additional support for your project. If you need financial assistance for special opportunities related to your project (such as travel costs to a festival or conference) please review the "Special Opportunities" section in your grantee handbook. Because there are three categories of Follow-up Project Support please make sure you are applying in the one that is best suited to your needs.

Eligibility

You have had your initial project meeting with Creative Capital staff.
You have applied for and received Strategic Financial Support.
You have made significant progress on your project.

How to Apply

Complete the application form and questions.
Attach an updated project budget (if applicable).
Attach a project update (if applicable).
Submit application and support materials to Creative Capital.
Keep a copy of the application for your records.

Application Deadline

There is no deadline. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Review Process

Your application materials will be reviewed by staff.
Priority will be given to projects deemed to have substantial cultural or artistic impact.

Work Sample

A work sample is not required for applications for $5,000 and below unless:

You have filled out a change of project form.
You have already received $10,000 in Follow-up Project Support this year.
If either of the above applies to you, please call artist services at 212-598-9900 extension 237.

Notification

You will be notified of the results of your application in approximately 2 to 3 weeks

Creative Capital Follow-up Project Support II

Complete the budget worksheet and attach a requested amount itemization.
Attach an updated project budget (if applicable).
Attach a project update (if applicable).
Submit application and support materials to Creative Capital.

Please keep a copy of the completed application for your records.

There is no deadline. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis..

Review Process

Work samples should be new and demonstrate that you have made substantial progress on your project. It is to your best advantage to submit the highest quality work sample possible. When submitting video or audio tapes make sure the tape is cued to the section that best represents your application (approx.10 minutes). Please fill out the work sample description form and label samples clearly with your name, funding category, and phone number.

Notification:

You will be notified of the results of your application in approximately 3 to 4 weeks.

Creative Capital Follow-up Project Support III

Application Guidelines for requests between: $10,001 - $20,000

You have applied for and received Strategic Financial Support.
You have made significant progress on your project.

Submit two copies of a new work sample and fill out a description form.
Complete the budget worksheet and attach a requested amount itemization.
Submit an updated project budget (if applicable).
Submit an update to your progress report (if applicable).
Submit application and support materials to Creative Capital.

Please keep a copy of the completed application for your records.

Review Process

Your project will receive three evaluations: two from outside evaluators in your discipline, and one from Creative Capital staff.
Priority will be given to projects deemed to have substantial cultural or artistic impact

Progress Report

In addition to application materials, the evaluators will receive a copy of your latest progress report -- based upon information provided by you.

Work Sample
