Creative Capital RSS Feeds
WHAT IS RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication," and it's a way
for any website to distribute its most recent content to readers who
sign up for the service. Think of it as a convenient, portable way to
pick up information from Creative Capital. While we always welcome your
visit to Creative Capital’s websites, you can now subscribe to
have announcements of grantee events, grant cycles, and organizational
developments come directly to you.
The URL for Creative Capital’s RSS feed is http://channel.creative-capital.org/rss/announcements_rss_1_0.xml
HOW TO DO IT
To subscribe to Creative Capital’s feed, you'll need an RSS reader.
Google offers a free reader. You can also install a piece of software
called an RSS aggregator.
Google Reader: Create
an account through Google. Once you’re logged in, go to Google
Reader. Click on “Edit Subscriptions,” and then “Add
a Feed.” Enter the Creative Capital RSS URL (http://channel.creative-capital.org/rss/announcements_rss_1_0.xml)
and then hit "Subscribe." You’re now set up to receive
the latest Creative Capital news!
RSS Aggregators: There are many options for RSS aggregrators
(also called RSS readers). For PC try SharpReader
or RSS Bandit. For Mac
try NetNewsWire, NetNewsWire
Light (free), or NewsFire.
Most of these programs are available as shareware for around $20. They
resemble Microsoft Outlook in that new items appear in a list, like
new emails.
Once you have your RSS reader installed, right-click (control-click
for Macs) on this link http://channel.creative-capital.org/rss/announcements_rss_1_0.xml,
save the file to your desktop, then import the file to your RSS reader.
To do that in SharpReader, click "File", then "Import
Subscriptions." In RSS Bandit, click "File", then "Import
Feeds." In NetNewsWire, click "File," then "New
Subscription." In NewsFire, click "File" then "Add
Feed."
Once you've set up your feed you can utilize your RSS reader to stay
up-to-the-minute with Creative Capital announcements!
